5th Year Spanish students loaned $50 to Oscar and he is currently 51% funded!
Students in our class researched individuals on Kiva.org, presented candidates to the class in Spanish, and we voted on which candidates we wanted to fund.
Oscar is pursuing a college degree in Psychology. He is thirty years old, and has been working as a receptionist for the past six years. Two years ago, having saved up enough money, he decided to go back to school in order to be a part of the mental-health profession and help people.
Oscar has his mother's support. She also has a job and earns a salary. The more he learns, the more Oscar feels a desire to put his knowledge into practice, and as soon as he finishes studying he will be ready to serve the public. In the meantime, he works as hard as he can at school.
He is requesting this loan to buy a computer, which will be a very helpful tool for him to perform well in college. His goal is to earn his degree and find a job in his field.
